Green Festival and Beyond by Paul
OMG, We just finished the San Francisco 'Green Festival'. I am only now getting my voice back and my arms still hurt from all my gesticulating. Anyway, we got a very good reception from our green sensitive 'constituency'. But how would we do in Peoria? I don't know. I believe the average person is ready to make a change that is 'adaptable' and 'reasonable'. We at Inka are trying to offer a way for people to deal with water and food resources simply and beautifully. If you can make a few simple changes at home, the implications could be world wide. We call this "Bio-Amelioration" , simple things that make the biological environment directly around you, better. The number one global issue is "Water", over 2 billion people are at risk of 'Hydraulic Poverty'. If we can better manage our water resources at our own homes, we can have an impact globally. Because, there is no big government agency, church, school or institution that is going to lead the way. Talk about social networking , the revolution in how we live in balance with the worlds natural resources is going to be up to us individually and collectively. I do not believe that a calvary is going to save us now. So, if we can figure out how to manage our own basic resources, within our own means, a lot of good can come of it. Each home could become a 'Green Lab'. We decided to really reconsider how an individual home, apt., hut, whatever, can use it's water resources to the maximum benefit. We created a series of hydroponic 'Micro Farms' that can grow plants on vertical surfaces ( excellent for urban/peri urban environments) and run on cycled and recycled water. . These small 'Wall and Stretch' gardens help people grow a garden where there is no arable land and limited water. Also, everyone who does decide to try vertical gardening is also entering a grand experiment with us. That could be considered a new biological 'social network'. ('Vision Drive') Everyone that plants vertically can stay in touch with us through our "forum page". The real idea here is to realize that you and I are the solution to he worlds problems. By combining intelligence, creativity, and concern for the world, we may have a chance to make a positive difference in the world, during our lifetime. Please stay in touch with us concerning anything you discover with your own experiments and even from using our garden systems..Thank you for reading! The adventure continues, Warm Regards, Paul paul@inka.fm
