The Inka Suncurve is an iconic, self standing totally integrated "micro-farm" combining a fish tank and vertical hydroponic grow structure to provide protein, vegetables and clean water in a self powered environment.

The Inka Suncurve can  grow almost any kind of plant except root vegetables. It can grow flowers, grasses, herbs, fruit, vegetables and many other types of plants in the appropriate environment, climate and season. In fact, we are interested in what success that you have had.

The best results are achieved when the plants are married to the climate and the season. Light, water, temperature, and humidity are chief factors affecting plant growth, and any one of these factors in incorrect proportions may prevent or interfere with plant growth. To help monitor your plant's water in-take, the water supply is metered by [an integrated] timer.

If you want to push the envelope and extend the plants growing season or grow them in a different climate, a heat pad is available for purchase which will help modify the root temperatures.

The Inka Suncurve is a free standing self-sustaining aquaponic food-growing system.

Powered by solar panels and a wind turbine, the Sun Curve grows plants vertically using patented technology that supports aquaponic food production. The water from the fish pond acts as a reservoir and a nutrient source. The plant roots, the Inka "Bio-Quilt", and a film of micro-organisms act as a biological filter, cleaning the water for the fish. This closed loop hydroponic and aquaponic system recycles water and uses about 10% of the water consumed in traditional farming. The Sun Curve can store enough power in its battery bank to run a built-in water pump and ultra-violet filtration system in addition to powering a lap-top computer or cell phone. This model was originally designed to support remote medical clinics.

No soil is used in the growing process. Plants are planted as seedlings and provided with water and nutrients from the fish, which aids vegetation production rather than root production. This generally increases the standard growth-rate of growth of plants.

You can raise many types of fish in the fish pond. Tilapia are good as a source of protein, Koi are beautiful, essentially any fish that can grow and survive in a pond are appropriate. The fish thrive and grow in relatively clear water and all that is required is that they are properly fed and normal fish pond maintenance is carried out.
